Background
Helge Holden is a professor of mathematics at NTNU. His research focuses on partial differential equations, including nonlinear wave equations and conservation laws.
He serves on the Lie–Størmer Center’s Board of Directors. He was Secretary General of the International Mathematical Union from 2015 to 2022 and has chaired the Abel Prize Committee. Together with Ragni Piene, he has edited volumes on the Abel Prize laureates.
