Mathesis a national PhD school for the foundations of computational mathematics. Financed by the research council of Norway and hosted by the Lie-Størmer Center it is run with partner universities across the country, it trains researchers who combine deep mathematical insight with computational practice. The name Mathesis comes from Greek μάθησις (mathēsis), meaning "learning" — signaling our mission of rigorous training across mathematical disciplines with a focus on computation.
