Research & background
Roland Speicher is a professor of mathematics at Saarland University. His research centres on free probability and its connections with operator algebras, random matrices and combinatorics.
He serves on the Lie–Størmer Center’s Scientific Advisory Board. His work includes free cumulants and combinatorial methods in non-commutative probability. From 2014 to 2019, he held an ERC Advanced Grant on non-commutative distributions.
